Connie's Thoughts. My views and thoughts on things. November 13 My Hermit crab died.Pore Hermit crab. He died the other day, well last week. He just died. I thought he was molting....nope, he stunk, bad. My son wanted to bury him. We went out the the end of our yard and I dug a hole and put him in it. I put dirt on top and poured a bunch of sand over that. Then I got a big rock and put it on top. I went outside today to take some pictures. I was walking around over by the tree area and I saw a crab claw and some crab legs. I went over to where I buried crabs. Some animal dug a hole, deep one and got crabs. They ate him. There were claw marks around the hole. They or it actually dug him up. So sad. They must have a great nose to smell it under the ground, under a big rock. I won't tell my son, he would be so upset. I wonder if it was a raccoon. I saw one, a big one, run across the road a block down the street, a couple of days ago. He ran in front of our car, into the bushes. His big striped tail hanging straight out. Oh, I got my washer fixed. It broke last week, during mid wash. I had to take all the wet clothes out and take them to the laundry mat to wash. Hubby said it was the pump so he called the manufacturer and ordered a pump. Had it over night delivered, it came the next day. He put it on and it works. I am so glad it works now. I got a lot of neat pictures in the yard. It was muddy from all the rain the other day, so I had to walk in the tall grass. There were these seeds stuck all over my slacks and shoes. See the pictures in my photos. September 05 No ParkingWe were supposed to go camping this weekend. We made reservations months ago and paid for the fees. It was somewhere in Kentucky. My
husband cancelled the camp site yesterday. We only get like half the money back. They charge cancellation fees and for the first night.
My son has been sick for the past week. He didn't go to school for the past 3 days. That is why we are not going camping, going out of town.
Now for a Stuck on stupid photo. I was sitting in my vehicle. My husband went into the Goodwill donation area to donate something to the Goodwill.
It was beside the Dollar General store. I love the Dollar General store because they sell the gum I like to chew, Clorets. I saw this old guy with his truck parked crooked in the driveway. That is where the cars drive. He was just standing there and parked in front of the NO PARKING sign. I guess he can't read. I took his
picture to put on my blog.
January 01 The ball just dropped (about 30 minutes ago)It is now 2009. I watched the ball drop at Times Square. I went upstairs and took down the 2008 calendar and hung up the 2009 one. Just think, in 6 months it will be hot again and I can jump in the swimming pool and float around. I love to float in the water. In May, school will be out and I think we will take a trip to go out West. My son wants to go to Legoland in California. It will depend on if gas stays at a good price or if it will go up. We will have a new president. (Yeah).
Today we went to the store. We stopped at Wal-Mart. I saw some biscuits in a can, so I put them in the shopping cart. (They call them "buggies" here, I call them carts.) I told my husband that for dinner I decided to make biscuits with turkey on them and make mashed potatoes and gravy to pour all over it. Like an open face sandwich. We went to the deli counter and I got 1 pound of honey baked turkey. It took the guy a long time to slice it. I then saw the pastrami was on sale so I got a pound of that too. To go with that we got a loaf of pumpernickel rye bread. We got in line and this lady put her stuff on the counter but left two big cases of soda pop in her cart. We watched her check out and she never told the checker about the pop. He didn't look. She paid for what she did ring up and walked out without paying for the pop at the bottom of her cart. The checker was a little "slow". My husband said to the checker "Did you forget to ring up that ladies drinks on the bottom of her cart?" The guy just looked down at what he was doing and didn't even know what we were talking about. He then went on to say that he wanted to find an apartment that he could afford so he could move out. He went on and on about how expensive things were. Next time I go to Wal-Mart, I am going to get me a case of pop and leave it on my cart and go to his line.........(Not really, but I bet that lady before me will.)
Happy New Year. December 29 Another Year has gone by. It is almost 2009. I don't like the sound of 2009. It is hard to shift from 2008 to writing 2009. Every year the number changes, and it does not change easy to my hand when I write the year. My son brings home an agenda from school that I have to sign every day. Plus his teacher has a little report paper weekly that I have to sign and date. Now I will have to write 2009. Just think about it, in about 80 years they will look back to the good old days of 2009. They will say what was life like back in the 2009 years. Life has changed in the last 100 years. Changed a lot. Heck it has changed a lot in the last 40 years. I remember when I was 10 we got a TV. TV's came out before that but my parents must not have liked change. My Mom does not even have a computer. I love the computer. Life was not easy at work without a computer. I love technology. Have a wonderful New Year's Eve. I am just going to watch TV.July 07 Sometimes I can't get on here.Hi. Today is the first time I could actually get on here. Usually when I try to get on, it just says it does not exist. If you want to read my other blog, the one I update most, it is at
